Police Operations

The Operations Division is the heart of the Police Department and is responsible for providing high quality police services to the City of Jerome.  The Operations Division is under the leadership of Assistant Chief Dean Larsen and includes the patrol section, detective section, school resource section, and reserve officers.

Patrol

The Uniform Patrol Section is the most visible part of the Police Department and is the “front-line” in protecting the community. Common duties of patrol officers include keeping the peace, enforcing local and state laws, traffic enforcement, investigating crimes, and working with the community to address other public safety and quality of life issues.

Detectives

The Detective Section plays a vital role in the community.  Common duties of detectives include investigation of major crimes, case screening, case management, and follow-up investigation of criminal offenses.

School Resource

School Resource Officers are assigned to various schools within the Jerome School District.  They play an important role in providing a safe school environment and deterring crime within the school.  School Resource Officers also help educate students on subjects such as crime prevention, school violence, and personal safety.

Reserve Officers

Reserve Officers are part-time members of the Police Department and are a valuable resource to the community.  Reserve Officers receive law enforcement training and are used to augment regular Police Officers during special events and at other times where extra police personnel are needed.
