Police Support Services
Support systems are an essential part of the Police Department. The support section is under the leadership of Lieutenant Larry Schwager and performs activities such as supply, property management, records management, city code enforcement, and training. These services are valuable to Police Officers working in the field and to members of the community.
Material and Property Management
Police personnel working in this area are responsible to insure that all property and evidence is properly recorded, maintained, and disposed. They are also responsible for ensuring that officers working in the field have necessary equipment to perform their duties.
Animal Control and Code Enforcement
Police personnel working in animal control and city code enforcement provide a valuable service to the community by enforcing local animal, health and safety laws and by addressing many quality of life concerns.
Community Service Officer
The Community Service Officer is responsible for properly maintaining and distributing police records. Duties also include the management of general office functions, uniform crime reporting, and serving citizens that come to the police department.

Training
Training is essential to the Police Department in order to ensure the safety and proficiency of Police Officers and also enhance the quality of service offered to the community. In addition to ten weeks of initial basic training, officers are required to participate in on-going training designed to maintain critical skills, as well as, develop skills that are more advanced.
