The utility division is located in the heart of City Hall. It handles the billing services for water, sewer,sanitation charges and irrigation assessments. The utility division consists of three employees: the Utility Supervisor, Senior Account Clerk, and an Account Clerk. The utility division is also the call center for City Hall and will be able to assist with most questions you have.
How To Start Service
The City of Jerome requires a new service application to be filled out in person. The items that are required are: a United States issued ID (e.g. driver's license, state ID card), a valid Social Security number and a $120.00 cash or credit deposit. All three items are required at time of application. New service is scheduled between the hours of 9:00pm -5:00pm.
Once you have made one year of on-time monthly payments you will receive your deposit back as a credit on your utility bill. Bills are mailed out on the 1st of each month and due the 15th of the same month.
Residential deposits are broken down as follows:
*Jerome City Codes (13.28.050) and Ordinances 1093,1100,1101 require all utility billings (water, sewer, sanitation) to be established in the real property owners name only.

All three items are required at the time of application.

How To Discontinue Service
If moving out of city limits and need to disconnect service, come to City Hall to sign an Off Order Form. Otherwise we have no knowledge of you moving, and services will continue to be charged in your name as the responsible party.
Utility bills are mailed out on the 1st of each month and are due on the 15th of each month. Meters are read monthly. In the event that your bill goes forty (40) days past due you will receive a termination notice. After receiving a termination notice you will be given two (2) weeks to either pay your bill or come into the office to make payment arrangements; please remember that the homeowner/responsible party must make the arrangement. If neither of these are done you will be put on the shut-off list, services will be disconnected on the last Tuesday of the month, and a $30 late fee will be applied to your utility bill. To have services restored the current amount due on your utility bill will need to be paid unless other arrangements are made. If there is not a current deposit on file, a new $120.00 deposit (cash or credit card only) will be required along with the reconnect fee and past due balance. The City of Jerome offers many payment options to pay your monthly bill.
By clicking on "Bill Pay" on the left side of your browser, you will be redirected to the page where payments can be made. You will need to have your account number and the amount you want to pay.
With direct pay the City of Jerome automatically debits your checking or savings account for the minimum that is due on the 15th of each month. You will still continue to receive your monthly billings on the 1st of each month with the amount being due.
Want to sign up for direct pay? Please print the Direct Pay form* and return it to City Hall or mail it in. Make sure to include a voided blank check.
In Person or Drive-Up Window/Night Drop
You can always come to City Hall or come to the drive-up window to pay your bill.
For those that are unable to make it during regular business hours there is a night drop box located under the drive up window. For your protection please do not deposit cash in the night drop.
Payment Types Accepted
We accept cash, checks, and the following types of debit or credit cards: American Express, Master Card, Visa and Discover.
The City of Jerome offers level pay, also known as equal pay to those that have been on service for one year and have good payment history (defined as six months of on-time payment). Level pay allows you to make the same monthly payment each month. Level pay amounts are calculated by using the most recent years' average billings.

The City of Jerome provides a chipper service for brush and tree limbs. Service is limited depending on limb size. There is a $20.00 non-refundable charge for this service. Chipping is usually done once a week on Mondays and is dependent upon the Public Works departments' workload. To request this service please come into City Hall and complete the application.
The City of Jerome provides a dump truck service for residential properties. The dump truck can be requested for any day of the week. The truck will be delivered to the desired location early on the requested morning and will be picked up the following morning. The city has 3 trucks available and are on a first come first serve basis. There is a $30.00 charge for this service, and there are limitiations as to what can be placed in them. If you would like to reserve a dump truck you will need to come to City Hall and complete the application.
Do you have a family reunion, birthday party or class reunion coming up? The City of Jerome has 5 parks that are available for reservation for non-commercial use. This is a free service. Parks can be reserved any day of the week and for as many hours as needed. The 5 parks available through the City are: North Park, South Park, Sheppard Park, A Street Park and Camozzi Park. To reserve a park you must come into City Hall and complete the application with the city clerk.
*These services are only available during the summer months
Backflow testing is to be completed each year. Backflow testing only pertains to those which have an automatic sprinker system hooked up to a City meter.
