Industrial Pretreatment Program

Development of a Pretreatment Program Implementation Manual

The City of Jerome, as required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is in the process of developing a Pretreatment Program Implementation Manual. This manual will comply with the National Pretreatment Program standards published in Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 403, including the pretreatment streamlining regulations published in 2006.

About the Program

The purpose of the Industrial pretreatment program is to control pollutants that could damage or obstruct the collection system, pass through the treatment facility with inadequate treatment, interfere with treatment processes, and/or pose a threat to the safety of City staff. These types of pollutants are more commonly found in discharges from non-residential users; thus, the Industrial Pretreatment Program is specifically targeted toward commercial and industrial users.
